For Earth Day April 22, 2024 local artist Nina Iglesias painted an Oyster Catch Basin Mural to help highlight the importance of Oysters in cleaning water in Raritan Bay and to remind us to keep the streets and catch basins clean so that we can protect our water from pollution and reduce local flooding. The Arts Council approved a new catch basin mural sponsored by Perth Amboy Artworks for the corner of Front St and Smith St. The mural will be completed for Earth Day 2024. The mural titled Oyster Beauty will be done by artist Nina Iglesia and will be located across from the Ferry Slip at the corner of Front St and Smith St.
