Live at the Ferry Slip

For City of Water Day 2022, enjoy a concert at the Historic Perth Amboy Ferry Slip on Raritan Bay. Enjoy great live music and beautiful water views.

A sea shanty is a genre of traditional folk song that was once commonly sung as a work song to accompany rhythmical labor aboard large merchant sailing vessels.  Deivito plays an ocean’s bounty of original Spanglish Sea Shanties including pirate ballads, dirges, sea shanties, and ancient marinated guarachas. A bilingual gumbo derived from traditional folkloric sounds of the North-Central-Carribean-South Americas, the sonic fare exemplifies a vibrant dance of the Old World and New.

From Jersey City, Minio Class is a pianist and composer who performs Latin and Modern Jazz, with a touch of impressionism. His new 3 piece band Minio Class and Friends, featuring Carlos Cartagena and Ivan Torres, plays World Music combining Latin, Rock and Jazz. Minio Class studied Jazz Performance Piano at Mason Gross School of the Arts.

Also check out nautical art and artifacts in the Ferry Slip Museum and try the great food and drinks available along the marina and waterfront. Free and all ages.

The climate is changing, and so must we. City of Water Day aims to educate and inspire action to meet this challenge. On this 15th year of City of Water Day, Perth Amboy Artworks is proud to participate in the region-wide day to raise awareness about the dangers we all face from sea level rise and climate change, and to advocate for a climate resilient New York and New Jersey harbor.

On City of Water Day at the Ferry Slip Music Series, learn about Perth Amboy Artworks Catch Basin Mural Project, where residents adopt murals painted on storm water infrastructure and keep them clean to help prevent local flooding and adapt to climate change.
