New Mural Coming to the Waterfront Walkway to Celebrate America 250

10 years ago Perth Amboy Artworks produced the waterfront walkway mural located by Raritan Yacht Club. The piece called Nautical Abstractions was done by Kerry Dyke while serving as an intern at Perth Amboy Artworks. The location is a heavy foot traffic walkway enjoyed by the Perth Amboy community. The location is busy all day all week long. People still take pictures in front of the mural. We love it (pictured Perth Amboy Artworks Chair Caroline Pozycki Torres in front of the mural). To celebrate America 250, RYC gave us permission to do a new mural on their wall and we are so excited. Details to come!

Grant funding for the mural comes in part from Revolution NJ to celebrate America 250. The Arts in Perth Amboy have made great advances, bringing the community together and activating the historic and public spaces in our city. From an award winning Creative Placemaking Plan that focused on murals as a pathway to revitalize the city, to the development of an Arts Council that advises on arts projects, to the birth of arts organizations that create programming for the city along with all the arts programming done by the Recreation Department and the Office of Economic Development. Perth Amboy Artworks is excited to present this work of art to the Historic City of Perth Amboy to celebrate America 250 showcasing the vibrancy and talent of our community. The mural captures the joy, complexity and enduring legacy of the United States.

Please help support our mural project with a donation. If you would like to be a partner on the project, contact caroline@perthamboyartworks.org. We will be hosting a reception party as well to celebrate America 250 and 10 years of Perth Amboy Artworks. To be invited or if you would like to volunteer please email caroline@perthamboyartworks.org.
