Join us for some hip hop in Bayview park featuring Brainorchestra on Saturday September 18th from 5-7 pm. Brainorchestra are a band from Perth Amboy and Elizabeth formed in 2016. Their release, “From The 908”, are 13 songs they wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered independently. They have been interviewed and performed live on NJ’s most popular indie music radio station WFMU. Brainorchestra are known for their live Beat Sets which they have performed at Beat Culture, a showcase of the best independent hip hop acts on the East and West Coast. They have toured the northeast and regularly play in Brooklyn and Jersey City. They recently were a headliner at the Long Island Music Festival. Free! Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.

Perth Amboy Artworks is back for the 2021 Season with a Waterfront Music Series! The Waterfront Music Series is kicking off with an evening of live music in beautiful Bayview Park on Sat. Aug 28 7-9pm.  Erotic Novels are the headliners, playing pop punk soul filled rock featuring Shannon Perez from Perth Amboy. Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Shannon has been at the forefront of the NJ indie music scene as principal songwriter and vocalist for multiple NJ indie bands, has toured nationally and has many albums. She remembers how important band was to her while attending Perth Amboy High. She has been active in the community, most recently producing the Stay Home Fest online music series for Perth Amboy Artworks during the pandemic. Special guest is Mikey Erg – National treasure, New Jersey native and king of pop punk who is currently on the esteemed Don Giovanni records label and many more. Always a new album, troubadour extraordinaire.

Bayview Park is at 250 Water St. and has beautiful views of Raritan Bay, access to parking and bathrooms at the Perth Amboy Marina and is walking distance to bars and restaurants and ice cream on the waterfront. Seating will be on the park benches or bring your own chairs and blankets. Free.

Get Vaccinated Now at a Walk in Site in Perth Amboy

Walk in vaccinations are now available in Perth Amboy. You can walk in and get vaccinated at Raritan Bay Medical Center from 8:30am-3:45pm and at Rite Aid on Smith St. No appointment is necessary. The Middlesex County Mega Vaccine site in Edison (97 Sunfield Ave) is also walk in from 8am-noon.  Walmart announced they have walk in vaccinations, no appointment necessary. CVS announced they have same day appointments available. You can also register for a vaccine appointment through the state website and view all possible locations throughout the state to be vaccinated. (https://covid19.nj.gov/pages/vaccine) You could also register for a vaccine appointment through the Middlesex County website and be vaccinated in Middlesex County. You can also register for a vaccine through the Perth Amboy City website or call (732) 324-3521.

Everyone 16 and over has become eligible for the covid vaccine. The covid vaccine is free and open to all residents regardless of immigration status or health insurance.  As the State begins to lift Covid restrictions in May and allows large gatherings and a return to full capacity indoor dining, you should get vaccinated as soon as possible to protect your health. Governor Murphy had set a goal of 70% of adults vaccinated by June 30. President Biden also announced that same goal for the country. Let’s get back to normal as soon as possible.
